Water activities in Mallorca: which one suits your trip?
Updated October 8, 2026 · 4 min read
Mallorca offers calm catamaran cruises, speedboats, kayaks and snorkelling trips. The best choice depends less on the longest list of activities than on the departure point, swell and how active you want to be.
How to choose
For a relaxed day with plenty of time aboard, the 5-hour catamaran cruise from Palma with lunch and swimming is a sensible benchmark. Choose a kayak or smaller boat to see the coast close up. Speedboats reduce travel time but can feel harsher in unsettled water.
Check before booking
Check the departure point, duration, inclusions and cancellation terms on the booking page. Minimum ages, weather rules and equipment vary by operator. Also allow enough travel time: Mallorca is large, and a meeting point on the other side of the island can add an unnecessary transfer to your day.
When to skip it
Skip the activity when the weather, swell or your fitness does not suit it. A shorter or calmer alternative is often the more enjoyable holiday choice.
My verdict
There are three paces to choose from: calm with the 5-hour catamaran cruise from Palma for €59 (anchor stop at Portals Vells or Cala Vella), fast with the 2-hour speedboat tour with a swim stop for €40, and active with the 3-hour kayak tour for €68. Decide first how much time you want to spend on the water, and only then how much you want to do yourself.
